Hi all. It's Karen now....my 'shift' started about 4:00. Dad's labors from earlier have tuckered him right out. He's resting very soundly. I know he must be exhausted from everything he's been through, but they can't let him rest for too long...as they need to continue to check his reponses. The nurse came back in a little while ago, and tried to wake him enough to have him do the 'standard' things...(wiggle your foot, squeeze my hand, show me 2 fingers, etc.), and he very... very reluctantly did those things, then drifted off to dreamland again. Not before the nurse pinched him however, getting quite a loud "Ouch" response, accompanied by a scowl. LOL. They aren't really concerned, because they know he is tired due to how long he was alert earlier, but they will be back in an hour, to try to wake him up for a little longer this time.
They brought by his 'dinner', but after discussing with the nurse about how tired he is...they decided they would wait until after the nurse came back in to wake him, to give him his food. So, it'll be interesting to see how he does with that. Keep your fingers crossed!
